Labor Day Weekend

Here it is, Labor Day Weekend and the big storm has come and gone. Irene packed a punch and certainly left her mark. The Saco reached some of the highest levels in years. There are many segments of river that are now very good for recreational paddling, however.

One of the best sections is the segment from Saco Bound to Walkers Bridge. The levels along this stretch are within recreational parameters. The lower river from the Old Course of the Saco in Fryeburg through Brownfield remains high. There may be many obstacles including several fallen trees especially along the upper segments of the Saco. Use caution and understand conditions before you go. Watch out for any additional rainfall over the next several days. For updated conditions call Saco Bound 603 447-2177.
