New Hampshire Whitewater Rafting Trips
Raft the Rapids of New Hampshire
We offer fun rafting trips for various age groups and ability levels. The river is beautiful and many opportunities arise in the form of scenic beauty, wildlife, and a lot of excitement. These are day trips. A guide will be in each Raft.
The Pontook Rapids is just north of Berlin, New Hampshire and is the longest continuous rapids offered by Northern Waters. This is strong Class II water with dam releases scheduled each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the summer months.
We meet at the Paul A. Boffinger Androscoggin River Park just North of Milan, New Hampshire. Morning trips meet at 9 a.m. and afternoon trips meet at 12:30 p.m. Each trip consists of two runs and the more adventurous get to try inflatable kayaks on the 2nd run.
Weekday trip: the most popular trip is a half-day excursion with multiple runs scheduled on the Errol Rapid with a progression to Duckies (inflatable kayaks) for the more adventurous. These are great experiences for families with children as young as 8.
For children 8 (60 lb. minimum) and older, a 3-hour day camp will be held using rafts and rubber kayaks (Duckies) on the Errol Rapid Class II and Class III at our Errol base. This will be an informative and educational whitewater introduction where principles of whitewater will be taught. This exclusive trip has a focus on kids or families only. Two child options are broken into age groups (8-12 and 13-17), pound weight restriction. We can pre-schedule groups according to ages and or family groups.
This is what a 1/2 day would look like:
9:30 Check-in for SR groups (Balsams groups arrive for 10:00)
10:00 Intro Gear up and 1st run
10:20 2nd run, Intro Duckie
11:00 3rd run, swap duckies
11:30 4th run, flip and fight games (Splash Time) option to stay and swim or go up for the last run.
12:30 Final run, (optional canoe run with NW guided canoe, Guide (age 12 and up) value-added.)
The next group starts at 1:30 with the final run at 3:30 to 4:00.
These trips are run out of our Errol, NH base which is about 1.45 hours from North Conway, NH on Route 16, or about 45 minutes from Bethel, ME on Route 26.
Ask about our family float trip, Class II from Mollirgewok to Brown Bridge. Excellent scenery, fishing, clean water swimming, nice family adventure with small children. Not heavy duty white water. Stops for fishing and swimming. It can be customized for families.
